I guess I was coming from the angle of having climbed a fair amount and I'd done snowdon via pyg track / miners track /rail track several times and in many differing weather conditions so was pretty confident before I ever took the Cribb Goch route. Well I can only talk from my own trips, done both a fair number of times, and to me Crib Goch never felt a great deal worse. That said last trip up Crib Goch was just over fifteen years ago so I may feel different now that I'm older and wiser??

Giles, I don't see a huge difference between Crib Goch and Striding Edge, if you've done the Edge then Crib Goch won't seem too unfamiliar. To pick up on Andy's post both are lots of fun when the weather gets pushy...

I've always found Crib Goch ok if you are ascending (I guess I tend not to look down or back), but far more scary when you descend!

As sunday was my lovely ladies birthday, there was never any chance of me paddling, but when folks decide to visit cardiff let me know, I think it looks pretty good

As Mr Abel has just received my associate membership application, I can forewarn people that I plan to meet up with you all for a quick sunday run down the Usk on the 6th dec, and maybe the Barle in March.
