I am organising a paddle from Yalding to Sluice Weir and return on Sunday 28th January.
Final numbers will depend on transport and boats available.
If you are interested, please let Tara, Tony H or myself know.
Will be at the boathouse on Saturdays.
If using club equipment, please book it here.

Hi,
I am up for the trip. I believe Tim Collier is too.
No equipment from club required.
Thanks
Fiona

Timetable For Trip.
9:30 Meet at boathouse to load boats and equipment.
10:00 Leave.
11:00 Arrive at Hampstead Lane, Yalding, ME18 6HG, and unload boats.
11:30 Launch.
13:00 Arrive at Slice Weir Lock for lunch. After lunch for those who want to, shoot the weir providing we have enough experienced paddlers.
14:00 Launch return back to Yalding.
15:00 Arrive Yalding, dry and if necessary change and load boats. Most are hungry so bring a post-paddle snack and or warm drink.
16:00 Leave Yalding.
17:00 Arrive at boathouse and unload boats and equipment.
17:30 Leave.
Please let Tara or myself know if you wish to go and if you have transport (ie car with roof bars or a van).
We will make final transport arrangements once we know who is going.

Re: Yalding Trip Sunday 28th January 2018.
After much last minute planning on Saturday, 19 members met at Yalding.

A good mixture of young, new and older members.

It was Tony's birthday, hence the smile.

And few more Meridian members were lurking below the weir.

Contrary to her worried looks, Sandie enjoyed the trip.

Arrived at Sluice Weir only to find the canoe shoot blocked by a log.

Whilst we had lunch..

.....Andy and Jim used throw-ropes to hook then dislodge the log to be washed down the shoot.
After successfully getting the log to slide down the shoot, the log sank.
So Andy led by example to see if the shoot was safe to use.

Followed by Jim.

The log was found by Mark bobbing away from the base of the shoot and others followed down the shoot.

With the weir gate open, we had the flow under us for a easy return to Yalding.

With such a high turnout, another trip is a must.
