Folks,
In accordance with the majority wishes I have booked the breakfast option , so are there any requests for veggie or vegan options? I have also opted for cooking for ourselves on Saturday evening (again any veggies?) , and have invited Tom , his partner Sarah, and the other coach to join us so we can all talk about the course off the water. Trust this is OK.
Perhaps you might have noticed that the BCU website has an equipment list for this course.
Throw lines,
River knife,
Karabiners,
Tape webbing slings,
BA with chest harness,
Whistle
I asked Tom if this was necessary for us. He replied that if we had our own personal equipment already then by all means please bring it along, BUT for those who don't, please don't buy anything as Tom would like to demo the type of equipment that he thinks is most useful, and we should be able to make a more informed choice after the course.
I still need completed course forms from several people, and of course the money in due course.
Last update 1 week before we depart.
Regards
Andy
Whitewater Safety & Rescue training
Re: Whitewater Safety & Rescue training
Folks
Here is the last update.
First we have a new course member , Brian Thomas , a friend of Barry's who is taking up the 12th place. He is lending Barry his trailer for the Slovenia trip so we owe him a favour!
Second transport.
Brian B is driving up early Friday with Sam, Tony and Tom aiming to get a paddle during the afternoon.
Jim is also leaving Friday morning with Di, June and I also aiming for a Friday paddle.
Barry , who is bringing his open, plus Brian T , (and Malcolm and Mark?) are coming up after work on Friday.
Meals
In case anybody has missed it we have opted for the catered breakfasts , but i will be cooking the evening meal on Saturday, to which we have invited Tom , Sarah (his partner) and the other coach . The cost for this will be £7 provisional for a 3 course meal. I am assuming that we have no veggie/vegans so a carnivorous diet is good for all!
Forms
I still need signed forms from Di , Mark, Brian T, and Tony
Costs
I am keeping a running total of who has paid deposits etc, but please come armed with cheque books or cash for the remainder.
Cost is £110 for the course (less club subsidy) , £30 for accomodation and breakfasts, and £7 for the evening meal.
Any problems please let me know soonest. I won't be accessing email after Thursday evening.
My mobile number is (0) 7790 812911

And perhaps it would be best to put Tom on a lower bunk too if he stays with you....toe mouse wrote:Randy Fandango wrote:To really show them your gratitude for a good course I recommend getting them both extremely drunk on the Saturday evening. i think sam k is going to sleep at my house thursday night after a couple of beers down "the club" so if anyone else travelling in my car wishes to join us for beers and a sleep over bring your jim jams and some money thursday evening.
