Tidal Thames Bridges trip on Sunday 18th November

Hi All,
I am organising a Tidal Thames Bridges trip on Sunday 18th November.
The plan (not yet cut in stone!) is to paddle 10 miles from Greenwich (SE10 9NW) to Battersea, getting off the river at the slipway beside St Mary’s Church (SW11 3NA) opposite Chelsea Creek.
LW Greenwich is around 11am
HW Battersea is around 5pm
Window for trip is 12:00 to 3:30pm
Sunset is just after 4pm
The trip is open to any club paddlers at around 2 star level and above, but please let me know in advance if you plan to come. This is a kayaking / canoeing trip with appropriate safety cover provided by paddlers, i.e. there won’t be any powered safety boats accompanying us. 10 miles may sound a long way, but the tide does almost half the work for us!
We will meet in Park Row, Greenwich at 10:30am. There is a public car park there, although it’s no longer free on a Sunday. The shuttle will probably take at least an hour depending on the traffic.
I want to be paddling by a little after 12:00 as this will enable us to catch the best part of the tide. High water at Battersea is at around 5pm. We should be getting off the river between 3pm and 3:30pm, but this will depend on how much ‘playing’ and ‘sightseeing’ we do along the way. Sunset is just after 4pm.
You will need to come prepared for what might be a cold and windy day. So in addition to your usual winter kit you should bring a warm hat and maybe some pogies.
It would be a good idea to bring snacks and drinks to have in your boat, and something to eat after the trip. I am not planning a lunch stop on the river.
I will add to this as the plans are confirmed or changed, but please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Happy paddling!
