Short notice overnight Medway trip

Post by Timmy »

I'm going to do an overnight trip on the Medway this weekend, short notice I know but hey ho.
Plan is a late start, on the water for about 5pm, paddle to a camp spot, probably Oak weir, overnight with a BBQ and beers. Early start in the morning, off the water by 10am for (what passes as) breakfast in the cafe.
That's the plan, if we are short on paddlers (likely at such short notice) then it'll be a return trip from Yalding, if we can get a shuttle working then it'll be a blast down from Tonbridge.
It WILL be wet at some point, if not constantly, so you'll need to pack for this. I have a 2 man tent available as I'll be in my hammock.
Don't worry too much about carrying kit, I'll be in a open so if you want your bulky/heavy stuff carried and fancy gambling on me staying dry feel free to hand it over
I'll be getting the rumor mill and the grape vine going, maybe even the jungle drums to get the word out.

This weekend it's 'Clean-up Medway Weekend',
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=839
so don't forget to pack a pair of Marigolds.

See you on Sunday, I'll be the one in the Meridian pinny....
