Hi,
Depending on river levels, there may be a trip to the River Mole this coming Sunday, 6th May.
We ran a reconnaisance trip in March (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=836), and although it was a relatively frustrating scrape down a river, the potential was clear given sufficient levels. On the earlier trip, the Dorking gauge was showing 12cm, but it's at 55cm today and the river rises and falls quickly depending on rainfall. As we're due a considerable amount of rain in the next 24 hours or so, we'll run the river again on Sunday.
This trip is not suitable for beginners. Due to the changeable nature of the river, there are risks of obstructions to the flow (fallen trees, etc.) and the earlier trip encountered a low-head weir and an undercut on one section.
Please leave contact details if you're interested in joining - the current party paddling is myself, Tim and Tony (whether he likes it or not - the livestock en route won't bother itself), or grab me at the lake tomorrow morning.
